ATTEMPTS TOCHANGE STATUS OFWOMEN IN PROJECTS AND PRACTICE OF BOLSHEWIKWI.EXPERIENCE OF THE NORTH CAUCASUS

This article analyzes the policy of Bolshewiki to change the legal and social status of women of the North Caucasus, and the practice of its implementation in a multi-ethnic region. In fact, it concerns creating of a new gender identity as a under-ethnic consciousness by overcoming ethnic and religious differences on the basis of common ideology and hardening of the positions of Soviet power in the North Caucasus. The struggle for the creation of a “new Goryanka “ was one of the general purposes to involve women in the country “into the socialism.” However, the Bolshewiki’s policy to establish equal rights for women in the North Caucasus has been implemented very slowly, accompanied by a lot of problems. It was connected with the ethnic diversity of the region, confessional composition of its population, most of whom practiced Islam as well as stability of the traditional mentality among themountainpeoples.
