SCIENCE ORTHODOX CLERGY WESTERN SIBERIA IN EARLY XX CENTURY

This article analyzes the activities of the Orthodox clergy in the early XX century in Western Siberia. Discussed the organization of and participation in the activities of the church priesthood scientific societies. Archival materials on commission at Tobolsk diocese brotherhood, a thorough analysis of the main scientific activities of the Orthodox clergy. Concluded that the scientific activities of Orthodox priests allowed to achieve some success in the accumulation and processing of documents and material monuments ecclesiastical tradition. Members of religious scientific societies dedicated to the popularization of historical knowledge found through holding open lectures and publication of critical research.
