REFLECTION OF BUKHARA EMIRATE HISTORY IN THE RESEARCHES OF WESTERN AUTHORS

In this article the historiographic material related to the researches of foreign authors on the history of Bukhara Emirate referring to the period of Manglyts` governance is systematized and generalized. The author gives a short characterological survey of Western scholars` works; such issues being highlighted as periodization of foreign historiography, changes in tendencies, thematics and contents of explorations; he determines the results and suggests the prospects of further development in reference to Bukhara emirate historiography. The systematized and generalized historiographical material will help to supplement the existing gaps in the historiography of Bukhara emirate connected with the period of Manghyts` governance and the data pertaining to political, social, economic life of the period in question. Materials, theses and inferences of the article may be taken into account and used by a creation of generalizing works on history and historiography in regard to the political history of Bukhara emirate and to a wide circle of problems associated with the social-economic and cultural life of Central Asian region referring to the XIX-th – the beginning of the XX-ie th centuries as well.
