SOCIAL PROCESSES IN THE CONDITIONS OF TRANSFOMATION OF URBAN SETTLEMENT PATTERNS OF BURYATIA (2002–2010)

The article considers the social processes occurring in the Republic of Buryatia in the first decade of XXI century, and their influence on the transformation of urban settlement patterns. Analyzed the regional disparities in levels of economic development. For example, the Republic of Buryatia discussed the problems and contradictions of social, economic, урабанизационных processes. The role of the regional capital, the city of Ulan-Ude, in the formation of a new settlement patterns. On the basis of statistical data analyzed transformational processes on the territory of Buryatia. Reasons for the administrative-territorial reform, and their socio-economic consequences for the population, and the region in General. Conclusions are based on the need in the successful, long-term projects which will help the Republic of Buryatia out of the existing crisis situation in the region.
