YOUTH SUB-CULTURES OF KABARDINO-BALKARIA: CURRENT STATUS AND GENESIS

This article is dedicated to the modern youth sub-cultures of the post-soviet Russia and their regional features on the example of Kabardino-Balkaria. The analysis of the essence of the notion “youth sub-culture” that has got actualization in the period of social transformations and social contradictions of the modern Russian society is given in this article. Different interpretations of the term, reasons and factors of its emergence, its kinds and intrinsic characteristics are defined and marked out. The youth sub-cultures are considered as the way of socialization of the youth in conditions of transformation and modernization of the society. The reasons of the sub-cultures emergence, the degree of spreading and their role in the lives of the youth of Kabardino-Balkaria is studied. The main youth sub-cultural groups in Kabardino-Balkaria such as football fans, bikers, tolkienists, Goths, emos, flash-mobbers and others are observed and examined. The authors examine the reasons of emergence of these youth sub-culture groups; reveal their originality and trends of development.
