AGRICULTURE AND THE PEASANTRY OF THE OPARINO DISTRICT IN THE 1920 S.

The paper is devoted to the trends and processes in the life and economic activity of peasants from the Oparino district during social and economic reforms of the 1920s. Natural and historic factors influencing the development of the agrarian sector are characterized. The ethnic features of the district are revealed, the population of which contained a high percentage of immigrants from the western regions of the Russian Empire (the estonians, the letts, etc.) who moved to the territory of the district in the years of the Stolypin’s agrarian reform. Influence of stolypin’s immigrants on development of agriculture of the area is shown. Practical realization in the Oparino district of an agrarian policy of the soviet power is considered, the attitude towards her country people comes to light. Changes in field-crop cultivation, stock-raising, agrarian engineering are traced back. The effectiveness of agrarian reforms is estimated in terms of increase in agricultural production and standard of living for the countryside population.
